"Farewell Danny"

Danny

Danny Rawling was a MINER, Great bloke and Special ForcesSoldier.Hewalkedinto the Berwick Miners 17 years ago and played in the 1994 Miners Championship winning game.  He had a major impact on many people since then and was always full of life and enthusiasm.  He energised those around him and had a special gift that made everyone a best mate.

Danny joined the Army in 2005 and soon found his calling as a Special Forces Soldier resulting in his deployment to Afganistan in 2008.  Danny fought many battles on our behalf and came through unscaithed.  He was called upon to return only weeks ago but was unable due to an injury sustained during training.  Some say he may have been safer if he had gone to that place called Hell on Earth.

Danny passed away doing something he loved, riding his Harley Davidson Fatboy.  His father Peter had handed the keys to Danny on his return from the war proud as punch.  Danny often spoke of his enjoyment and love for the rides with his Mum, Dad and close family friends.  They had travelled to America to go on the ride to Sturgess and more recently Tasmania.

Danny grew into a great man, Miner and Soldier.  He will be missed but never forgotten.
