The Club…

The MINERS are a long standing, proud and successful organisation situated at
Rawling Field, Sydney Pargeter Reserve in Power Road, Endeavour Hills.

Since 1987 the club has periodically imported players and coaches from the USA and has competed in finals in 17 of their 20 year history with 5 consecutive Vic Bowl appearances from 1991 to 1995, winning two.

Over the years, some past Miner players have also had success in receiving college scholarships to the USA.  The most recent being Nick Vlad, who received a full Football scholarship at BOISE State University in 2009. Boise State is a Division 1 College.

Another past player David Wing played for the Miners from 1992 to 1996 as a tight end and punter. In the early 90’s David trialed for the Detroit Lions and then in 1998 David went over to Europe and played as a punter for the Scottish Claymores in the Europe NFL. His son Brad Wing is now a young famous punter for the LSU Tigers in the USA.

The club has also had a past player with ex Vic Bowl Premiership player, State and Australian representative, Jason Kurfurst, employed by Northern Illinois University as strength and conditioning coach to their football team.

2013 Head Coach, Mel Martin, has not only coached premierships, State and Australian Teams, but is also a Coaches ac-creditor and has twice been invited by the NFL to training camps at the Raiders.

The Club has had success with many premierships at both Senior and Junior Level and boasts the best facilities in Australia. We have 2 dedicated Gridiron fields and are the only club to have a six man hitting sled, ball machine and club song to say the least.

We are also the first club to align with the newly formed Ladies Gridiron League and have established the Berwick Diamonds to be the first ladies gridiron club.

We are always looking for new players, fans and members to join our organisation so please contact the MINERS to visit and be part of the premier Club in the land!
